About Vincent Forte

Vincent Forte After a long and distinguished career as an electric power engineer as well as a
manager/director of engineering I now enjoy a second career as a fine art oil
painter. A professional artist since 2013, I have been painting for over 3 decades.
Using a representational style my paintings depict a diverse range of subjects which interest me such as landscape, seascape, still life, interiors, religious themes, and portraits.
I also accept commissions.

EDUCATION:
While I earned several engineering degrees my training in art was by the atelier practice similar
to tutelage of the Renaissance period. Artists who have significantly shaped my artistic education include my father (Vincent Forte, Sr.) a renowned sculptor whose bronze and stone sculptures can be found in public venues and in museums around the Albany, NY area. I also studied with Louis Pelky a fine art painter noted for his realistic skies and seascapes. Louis Pelky had studied with Emile Albert Gruppe. I completed my artistic studies with Joan Lord a well known oil painter and author who had studied with Helen Van Wyk.

PATRONS LOCATIONS:
My paintings can be found in private collections in seven states as far west as Colorado, along
the east coast from New England to as far south as Florida, and in Canada. Three of my paintings are owned and displayed in two Catholic churches. I have also worked on bronze sculptures in public venues near Albany, NY.

MEMBERSHIPS:
I am a member of the Schenectady Art Society (SAS), Colonie Art League (CAL), and the Portrait Society of America.
